Department of Labor
Department of Labor: The Division of Employment & Training has funds available for individuals to increase their skills and obtain employment. Funding eligibility is based upon an individual’s need for and ability to complete training as well as various income and work status eligibility criteria. To be considered for funding:
1. Register on Delaware JobLink by clicking on Job Seeker, and then Create Account.
2. Answer all the questions and create an active resume. If you have previously registered, you will need to update your information.
3. Once this has been completed, contact the Employment and Training office at Department of Labor to notify them the profile has been completed and to find out what your next step would be.

Focus on Alternative Skills Training (FAST)
FAST provides tuition assistance, up to $10,000, to Delaware residents who have obtained the following:1.) A high school diploma from a Delaware school, or its equivalent. 2.) Be enrolled in an approved certificate program no later than 24 months after completion of obtaining a high school diploma or its equivalent. Areas of training include:

Workforce Training Grant (For Employers)
Trades Financial Support
- Elevate Delaware helps employers expand by investing in workforce development and helps Delaware residents increase their earning capacity. Elevate Delaware provides up to $10,000 to individuals for approved non-credit certificate programs provided by the Delaware Workforce Development Board guidance of eligible programs. Students are eligible for Elevate Delaware if they are employed by an employer with less than 51 employees and are subject to Delaware income tax. For more information visit: Elevate DelawarePre-Apprenticeship is a Delaware Workforce Development Board American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) grant that funds student seats in the 386-hour Aircraft Maintenance Pre-Apprentice Program. Enrollment is open now for the next program start date on January 6th, 2025.Registered Apprenticeship is an employer-driven, "earn while you learn" model that combines on-the-job training with job-related classrooom/lab instruction. Registered Apprentices are sponsored by their employer and therefore typically work during the day and attend school at night. As Registered Apprentices increase their skills, they also experience an increase in wages. Registered Apprenticeships are offered in a variety of occupations. Most Registered Apprenticeships are four years in length or 8,000 hours of on-the-job training. For each year of training, a minimum of 144 hours of related instruction is required. Upon completion of the required on-the-job training and related instruction, the Registered Apprentice is eligible for Journeyperson papers. A journeyperson is nationally recognized as having a well-rounded ability in all aspects of his/her trade.

Students must be referred by their employer, or have completed the Aircraft Maintenance Pre-Apprentice Program, or completed the Maintenance Fundamentals course to enroll.
