AAPC Certified Professional Coder

This program prepares students to accurately code physician/hospital procedures to obtain reimbursement from insurance companies. Graduates will sit for the AAPC Certified Professional Coder (CPC) exam. The cost of the certification is included in the tuition. 

Prerequisites

High school diploma or GED; Medical Billing experience or Medical Terminology and Anatomy and Physiology classes

Medical coding is one of the fastest-growing allied health occupations. Individuals who complete this program are eligible to sit for the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) Certified Professional Coder Exam. AAPC is recognized as a professional level industry standard. Textbook, AAPC membership, online practice exams, and certification exam fee are included in tuition. Coding books are required for the course and are available to purchase at an additional cost. Prerequisite: Anatomy and Physiology and Medical Terminology. Prior coding experience is recommended.
