Apprenticeship Program

The Electro-Mechanical Technician Program prepares students to work in the manufacturing industry as maintenance and electrical technicians. Students participate in an 80-hour externship at the end of the semester. Employment prep and job placement services are included. Graduates of the program are given advanced standing in the Industrial Maintenance Mechanic program.

An apprenticeship program works as a perfect stackable credential toward furthering your education. Journeypeople who complete a Department of Labor-registered apprenticeship and choose WilmU’s STEP PathTM can earn up to 42 academic credits* toward a WilmU degree program, including WilmU’s B.S. in Applied Business.

Electro-Mechanical Technician

The Electro-Mechanical Technician Program prepares students to work in the manufacturing industry as maintenance and electrical technicians. Components include: tools and test equipment, precision measurement, print reading, calculations, electrical theory, rigging, lubrication, bearings, drives, vibration, alignment, solenoids, generators, transformers, hydraulics and pneumatics, and an 80-hour work experience. Individuals who complete this program qualify for advanced placement in the Industrial Maintenance Mechanic Apprenticeship program. Grant funding is available to qualified applicants.
