Apprenticeship Program

The Wastewater System Operator Specialist program is a two-year State of Delaware recognized registered apprenticeship designed to teach the basics of the wastewater treatment process and the practical aspects of operating and maintaining wastewater treatment plants. Upon completion of two years of related technical instruction and 4,000 hours of on-the-job learning, Registered Apprentices are eligible to earn a nationally recognized Journeyperson credential.

Journeypeople who complete a Department of Labor-registered apprenticeship and choose WilmU’s STEP PathTM can earn up to 42 academic credits* toward a WilmU degree program, including WilmU’s B.S. in Applied Business.
