Electrical I/EST I

This course is required for the following programs:

This course builds on the material covered during Building Construction Core and provides electrical students with a foundational knowledge of electrical safety, theory, tools, blueprint reading, and wiring techniques. Students learn how to install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures in accordance with the National Electric Code (NEC). Prerequisite: completion of Building Construction Core or recent (past three years) construction related employment and the ability to pass the BCC bypass exam. NOTE: This course satisfies the first-year classroom instruction requirements for both the Electrical and Electronics Systems Technician (EST) apprenticeship programs.
